Back in 2007 we released a
screensaver program called Screenracer. It was
our first 3D software release of any kind. The
program was well received and earned a several
awards. Over the years this program has slowed in
downloads. Since this screensaver is now over 5
years old, it seems like a good time to just
release it for free. The team at Factory Five has
been great to us over the years, so it only seems
appropriate to release this archived software for
free.
Just click on the download and install the
screensaver. The default settings are set very
low. With today's newer computers, you should be
able to increase the car count to very high,
click on "settings" to increase the
detail level and set the display resolution to
the highest setting with no problems.
The program was built to only work on windows
based PC's. *Note! This is an older program. And
is untested on the latest windows 7 platform. So
if you have any issues running it, I am very
sorry. This program is unsupported and released
as-is.

Is
this going to be a GAME, or a screen saver?
A
screen saver. When we started this project back
in Feb 05. Our goal was to build a great full 3D
stockcar screen saver. Over time we have grown,
and we now have 5 total race car types, and 5
track locations. But our first goal is still in
place, to create great 3D racing experience for
you!
Sponsors,
and Sponsoring Screen Racer?
Auto
Racing is the worlds largest spectator sport, and
screen savers are running on millions of PC's all
over the world. Our goal is the build the best 3D
Racing screen saver, and we are looking for
sponsors to help us reach out goal, in turn
helping them reach millions of users and
potential customers.
That is a interesting question, one
I have not fully thought about. I plan on
creating more tracks. As we get a larger install
base, and allowing users the options to download
them. As we get new sponsors, they will be
included in updates, and new versions.
We are getting companies to sign up
as sponsors. We are looking for motorsports
related sponsors, not them evil web tracking
popup types! Were looking for motorsports related
sponsors because we want all the race cars to
look realistic, not just have fake generic
sponsors. The second part of this question, is
about adding your owns race skins to the cars. I
can only recommend you not doing this, because
when you change data in any program anything
could happen. But game mods help keep games going
on for very long time, so you would be making a
screen saver mod (now that is funny!). Most
people that race in the leagues are very
intelligent. So figuring out a way to crack open
the DAT files and finding the race skins wouldn't
be that hard. That's about all I want to comment
on that for now.
Yes. New Tracks are in the plans.
I'm not 100% sure what you mean by modes of play,
We are considering doing a off road version,
after the first release. But only time will tell.
NO! The Screen saver runs on
graphics engine with a awesome physics system,
100% AI driven. No fake pre-made animation
racing! You'll see passing, bump and runs, and
perhaps a car getting moved out of the way and
into the wall. We are not going to use yellow
flags, if a car falls too far behind (from a
accident) it will get moved to the pits and wait
for the cars to come back around, and rejoin the
race pack.
Minimum Requirements: 1.2 GHz
Computer, with 128MB of free RAM and 32MB 3D
video card.

the name to put a tick in there or remove a tick.
The boxes with ticks will be shown in a race, the
boxes without will not be shown.
If you put a tick in the randomize box, then the
computer will decide what is shown, if it is left
unchecked then it will cycle through in the same
order.
How
do I select the amount of cars in a race?
In
the settings menu just below the title 'How Many
Cars Per Race' there should be a drop down box.
In there you can select the amount of cars per
race. Hint: The more cars selected the more CPU
power ScreenRacer need to simulate them. So if
your screenplay stutters then turning down the
amount of cars will help it become smoother.
How

In
the settings menu just below the title 'How Many
Laps Per Race' there should be a drop down box.
Select the option that you want to see.
How

In
the settings menu at the bottom in-between the OK
and Cancel Button there is a drop-down menu, for
a smoother but not so graphically advanced screen
play select Low Detail. For ScreenRacer to look
its best select High Detail. Hint: If the
screenplay stutters, then reducing the detail in
this menu will help smoothen it out.
How
do I change the resolution / Antialiasing /
Rendering Device in ScreenRacer?
Go to
the settings menu and go right to the bottom next
to the detail menu. You should see a button
labelled 'Display Settings'. Left click on that
and that should launch a new menu. If youre
running more then 1 graphics card then you can
select which one you want it to run on in the
Rendering Device menu. To change the resolution
of ScreenRacer, then click on the arrow pointing
down and select which resolution in-which you
want SR to operate in. To change the amount of
antialiasing in ScreenRacer, click the down arrow
next to the resolution box. Hint: If your

smooth the screenplay out.
